Perils for Pedestrians Episode 146

 Sunday Parkways
Bicyclists and pedestrians take over the street for Sunday Parkways in Portland, OR. Modeled after the Ciclovias in Latin America, the Sunday Parkways event involves closing a 10 km loop of streets to automobile traffic for a day. Family activities are set up in city parks along the route. The event becomes a 10-km-long street festival. Other U.S. cities, such as Chicago and New York, have had great success with similar events.
