Perils for Pedestrians - Retrofit Reasons

Children walk home from school on a new sidewalk in Cabot, Arkansas, while school buses go by on the highway. School systems spend tens of billions of dollars on school busing. Meanwhile, in many places, the potential savings on hazard busing would more than pay for building sidewalks. Less money on busing leaves more money for textbooks and teachers.
